To cater for our Helmsman heading off to Lightning Ridge and as other members were also heading north, our AGM was held in May rather than June, resulting in two activities in May and none in June.
With our winter weather and some of our retirees heading north there has been no WBA action and little activity on the water for June.
Some members have taken short trips on the water. Doug & Marian Gullickson showed the lakes to two Canadian relations from Edmonton. Colin McArthur used “Ibis” to explore the canals, enjoying being on the water, but protected from the winds. John Nicholson is trying to hot up The Laughing Jellyfish by increasing the propeller RPM. Robert Irvine has been confined with knee surgery, but is looking forward to being more active and able to use “Lacconic” again.
We were sorry to lose a foundation and very active member Bob Emsell and Betty who have moved to a retirement village in Port Macquarie. We hope they enjoy their new home close to their children. Lawrence and Maureen Marshall have now sold all their boats, although they still retain an interest in wooden boats.
