My John Welsford designed JOANSA - "Slithytove". My first boat, now 17 years old. Even after all the other builds,it's still a family favourite. Lightweight, sturdy, bouyant, suprisingly seaworthy, it has been a wonderful little boat. Can be rowed two up, easily copes with 3 adults aboard, and with the giant 2hp Honda aircooled outboard can (sometimes) make 10 knots. It's been Interstate (yes, including Tassie) either on it's foldable trailer, or roof topped on one of those wonderful Ford Wagons. This hasn't been an "ocaissional" boat but one that has been to the school of Hard Knocks and survived admirably.
I built it by accident really, as I wanted to build the Welsford "Rifleman" and did this little boat to "learn the ropes". What a great choice it turned out to be.
